Client services

When you engage Makeproper for a project, the specific terms of that engagement are set out in a written proposal or agreement provided to you before work begins. That document governs the project in full.

In the absence of a separate written agreement, the following general terms apply:

  • Proposals: a written proposal is provided before any work begins. The proposal sets out the scope, timeline, cost and payment terms for the project. Work does not begin until the proposal is accepted.
  • Payment: our standard payment terms are set out in each proposal. We typically require a deposit before work begins, with the balance due on or before project completion. Overdue invoices may incur a late payment charge in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
  • Intellectual property: on receipt of full payment, intellectual property rights in the deliverables created for your project transfer to you. We retain the right to display the work in our portfolio and marketing materials unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Revisions: the number of revision rounds included in a project is set out in the proposal. Additional revisions beyond the agreed scope may be charged at our standard day rate.
  • Cancellation: if you cancel a project after work has begun, you remain liable for the cost of work completed to the date of cancellation. Any deposit paid is non-refundable unless otherwise stated in the proposal.

Limitation of liability

Makeproper's liability in connection with any project or service is limited to the total fees paid for that project or service.

We are not liable for any indirect, consequential or economic loss arising from our services or from the use of this website, including but not limited to loss of revenue, loss of data or loss of business opportunity.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

This website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or privacy practices of those sites. Links are provided for convenience only.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or from our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
